Kap Verden - Santo Antão - die Bergige Ribeira Grande ist die Hauptstadt von Santo Antão und touristisch noch kaum erschlossen. Bei Ribeira Grande biegen wir ins gleichnamigen Tal Ribeira Grande im Nordosten der Insel. Gleich hinter dem Ort beginnen zwei mächtige Kesseltäler, die sich tausend Meter tief in das gefaltete Gestein gekerbt haben. In Jahrhunderte langer Arbeit haben die Insulaner schwindelerregende Terrassenlandschaften und gepflasterte Pfade angelegt. Ribeira de Torre mit dem Pico.
