Tantalus Drive und Round Top Drive waren Schotterstraßen, als sie im Jahr 1917 gebaut wurden. Der Tantalus Drive führt über eine enge gewundene Straße hinauf auf den Mount Tantalus. Kleine Parkbuchten am Straßenrand des Talantus Drive bieten immer wieder einen faszinierenden Ausblick auf den Diamond Head, Waikiki Beach und die Innenstadt (Downtown) von Honolulu.
